Solea Mactan Resort ★★★★

Food was delicious. Staff were friendly and courteous. Facilities were many and the resort is very family friendly.

No bidet in the toilet. There were two sea snakes in the beach. The breakfast was a buit chaotic maybe because of the high volume of guests.

The check in time is loooong! We waited in the lobby. My mom, niece and nephew are sleeping by the lobby waiting for are rooms to be ready. After 30 mins. I went back to the receptionist and was told only 1 room is ready. I took it for my family to rest. Then it’s already 6pm when I get the 2nd room.

Spread of breakfast buffet! I didn't even see beef or chicken? Maybe there was fish? But it was probably breaded fish. It's the Philippines, at least offer some danggit? Nothing. Just eggs and line was long. I was disappointed of the breakfast, I wouldn't buy it next time, if we ever stay here again. Also the grill place at the beach, not even a single seafood? This is Cebu where fish and seafood are a plenty! Just a few pork and chicken. No buko juice? And it's just crowded on weekends, making the place not so appealing. And so many fees! A child at 17 yo (which was stated) got charged P2K? When it fact we didnt' need another bed. Breakfast was not worth it.

My son enjoyed the kid's club and he enjoyed the play area outside the ball pit. There were different options for the pool. The food in their restaurant was affordable and delicious. The staff were friendly and always greeted you. The facilities were great.

A few days before our check in date, I had anl email about my booking. I tried calling the resort to sort it out and the lady I have spoken to told me there is nothing that I can do until we check in. There were issues with booking.com reservations( I have never encountered this issue since I started using booking.com for more than 10 years). However, after a few days speaking with them, I got the same email questioning my booking. During our check in, the check in area was very warm and only 2 staff accommodating 4-5 groups of guest, which was not a pleasant experience as we were sweating and tired and just wanted to check in but it was the most unpleasant check-in experience I had. (They could have added more staff to accommodate guests queries or maybe just a massive A/C, a waiting area or a queing system so guests can wait more comfortably while waiting to be entertained) On our first night, there was a black out/power outage. We were told there were guests trapped in the elevator. I have never encountered a resort having a power outage, ever! ( The staff were really great though and I can see the responded to the problem efficiently, as after a few minutes, the power came back). Another issue I had was needing to queue for our breakfast. There were people waiting for ages just to get a table to eat their bfast. Surely, the management know how many people are checking in and needing breakfast right?!? Luckily, we were told that the downstairs dining area was available for bfast BUT with limited food options. We were not willing to wait for bfast, so we went downstairs which was also crowded. Again, not a good experience for a 4* star resort. Overall, I was hoping to relax during my stay in Solea, but from the check in experience and bfast experience, I don't think Solea has provided me with the 4* experience I was hoping and paid for.

Gym opens late at 8am. Should be, 6am. All facilities should be included, specifically, the inflatable obstacle course.

Perfect place to stay for families. All the amenities and location are perfect. Lots of options for swimming, dining and activities. Staff are great and the rooms are clean with amazing views.

Be warned. We paid for 3 adults which included breakfast, for 3 nights. We listed the guests as 2 adults and 1 child 13 yrs. old. Upon arrival, Solea refuse to honor the 3rd breakfast as I listed 3rd person as a child. They stated that 13 and over is considered an adult and breakfast was not included for a child. I told them that the child listed was paid as an adult. All they look at is the guest list and NOT what you actually paid. Tried messaging Solea but still no response. Thankfully Booking.com sided with me and refunded the 3rd breakfast in full. Thank you Booking.com. Even Booking.com received no response from Solea. Point is, list all your children, 13 and above, as adults.

There are plenty & variety of pools. Very nice interior and landscape though the beach is not that promising. The amenities are the best. Right after we checked out, I notice that my hat is missing. So, we ran back to the reception & ask for assistance. Thank god my hat is in the Lost & found section! Kudos to the employees & staff!

The checked in/out are way to early. Staying for 2days & 1night is not enough.

I really like the beach and the pools available.

There were very many people and it was really uncomfortable. Just make sure to book weekdays.

I liked that the beds we had were 2 double beds because I booked for 2 adults and 2 kids. I booked a garden view thinking it would face the front of the hotel but it was facing the back. Not disappointed. Best view of cebu city lights at night.

Even though I indicated that there will be 4pax in the room, amenities provided were only for 2. But the housekeeping attendant on the floor was still there so I just asked for addtl amenities. The water station for the floor was not refilled eventhough I called 0 and informed them that it was empty. I kept checking until late at night but still there was no refill until we checked out.

Everything is good and exceptional except for the last draw that somewhat made us stress during check out. But overall, it was a great experience. Please make sure Solea not to immediately conclude that it's "impossible" for your staff from housekeeping not to make a mistake or missed an item to be placed on the rooms before we, the customers, checked in and whenever there's a missing item on the rooms upon check out, you automatically advised your customers that they need to be charged and pay for it because that's so unfair on our end. The front desk agent told me that the supervisor of the housekeeping dept kept on insisting that there's a "coasters" inside the bathroom and it's very impossible that there will be a missing items. it's there protocol that if there's a missing items upon checked out, customers will be charge and I totally understand that BUT THE PROBLEM was, there's NO COASTER at all when we checked in last July 18. We were hold for about 20 to 30 mins because of that and I even told the front desk agent that we are willing to let our bags be checked and I insisted that i will not pay anything. On the other side, my partner remembered that I made a video during our checked in and shown it to the front desk agent. Which gave us a relief somehow and to show them that we are telling the truth. Anyways, still it was a great experience and good service.

Breakfast is good ang the staff are all amazing.

We need to request for the toiletries like the toothbrush and toothpaste. We paid for an extra person but we still need to request for an additional towel, soap, shampoo , bottle water etc.

My parents and brother's family enjoyed their stay but find that their food ( dinner buffet ) is very expensive. Still overall, they were satisfied especially with the polite and helpful staff.. :)

We find food/beverage and some amenities are a bit pricey... However, overall my family enjoyed their stay.. :)
